Avatars can be no bigger than 350 pixels in height. Each room may have their own limit so be sure to read over each rooms rules. No matter what though the limit of the site itself is at 350.

The reason I'm pointing this out is that many of you have forgotten this rules and have been posting large AV's. This rules is here for a good reason, oversized avatars slow down the room and eat bandwidth. So PLEASE keep your avatars  no bigger than 350 pixels in height.

The rules for Avatars has officially been changed. There will be no longer a set limit. HOWEVER each room will have their own set limit and everyone is expected to obey those. All site owned rooms will remain at 350 in height.

Keep in mind that although there is no limit site wide, some people are still on dialup and since some people will put their names in black font, the only way to identify some people is by av so keeping av sizes around the 350 limit would be considerate of those on dialup.

exactly the reason we had a limit from the start of things *S*

We decided to make the rule in the Refugee's Dungeon to read...

Regarding size - 350 pixels in height is the recommended size per av.
However, anything 400 pixels in height and above will not be allowed.

This to Me gives some wiggle room for those who receive av gifts from
others and they don't wish to alter it out of respect to the designer.
Ultimately, who the h#ll needs an av that honkin big over 400? Just sayin...

Thanks David and Chris for such a wonderful chat home!

true crush that is true, although alot of people think that size matters so the bigger the better, but to me it isnt the size that matters its what you do with that size that counts >.> lol

scratchchin are you saying your small?  wink

teasing of course....in the case of avs size does matter. The bigger..the more its gonna hurt the whole chat experience in my opinion. The bigger normally leads to a lot more slow loading time and so on. Specially those small amount that might be even still around on dial up!
