Due to the high demand of request to add pulldowns to room there will be a $5.00 fee for the Staff to add pulldowns to a room after it's initial opening. There will still be a free option for you to add pulldowns to your own room in the members section.

Maybe I'm the slowest bottle of ketchup here but... you're saying if people want DRC staff to code the pullsdowns there's a fee but if we can do them ourselves for our own rooms that's cool as in no charge?

Thanks, Chris, I thought that's what you meant but it's always better to ask. If I may, this is a good idea. Time is sparse, you guys have other things to worry about when here and DRC already offers allowances for the sole ownership and running of your own room that this is something we should be able to do ourselves. We should feel lucky, lots of other sites from what I understand you have to submit pulldowns and let the Admins put them in place.

Nothing wrong with keeping a crib sheet of codes. Even I have one for more complex HTML and CGI scripts I use in my web design. Hell, even Erin's picking up on understand CSS design.

CSS has to be one of my weak points. I understand some of it but wow there is a lot that just makes me want to rip at my hair. But then again I have not really sat down long enough to read over it more. Though I find it much more easier then PHP! *L*

Well for me PHP is just trial and error but CSS, we learned that by taking templates that already utilized style sheets and tearing them apart. Doesn't hurt that I have a nice full copy of Dreamweaver which just walks you though Style Sheets...

I hate to say this...but I really don't think this is fair to those of us who don't have a lot of money...and also to those of us who don't know how to code pulldowns ourselves like your's truly

..:: Laces ::.. If you can code an AV you can code a pulldown. I'll gladly teach you how, just e-mail me at chris@darkrealmschat.com and we can set a time to meet. And you have to remember all though we are here to have fun DRC is a business and with out the small fee's we charge the sites would close.

We are always here to answer questions and what not and to help out. But there is at times ones like to abuse that who constantly wants us to make the changes when the option is right at their hands to learn. Editing pulldowns is very simple if you ask me. Just a few things here and there. If you can code a av then you can simply code a pulldown its that easy. And if you don't code avs well simply ask.
Edit one play around with it if it messes up we can always set it back to default free of charge.
But when its a change to one pulldown almost every week, every other day I am sorry but we have other things we are working on. We have our offline lives to think about as well. As much as I would like to say the site has a huge staff without running into problems we don't. We are a small group.
Plus if your having troubles you can simply ask anyone here on the board I'm sure someone would be willing to help out at any time. By simply posting the message you want someone could say here this is how the code works....
$USER$ <i>agrees with $WHOTO$</i>: $PREFIX$ $SAYS$
Pretty simple I think.....all the default pulldowns have the $USER$'s and $WHOTO$'s already there it is just your job to fill in what you want it to say.
and to help give a little understanding behind those it is like this.
$USER$ = You
$WHOTO$ = Who your posting to
$SAYS$ = This signals the post you type in.
$PREFIX$ = This is a optional but for those who want to use the message prefix it is a must have in on the pulldown.
And as far as not having a lot of money we do understand that. If the sites was not paying themself who knows where we would be right now. My budget is tight. I know Chris's is. Just because we run sites does not mean we have a lot of cash to float around.

Yes I understand the lack of extra money. Don't ever think that that's all DRC is about is $$$ Nor David or myself make any profit from the site and as he pointed out this is for those who would abuse the services we offer who wanted things changed too often.
