pulldowns looked hard at first but once you get in there... and use trial and error, you can really have some fun. It's like David pointed out.... simple once you get the swing of it. And anything you do wrong can be easily fixed and can't harm anything....

Wow I kinda wish I hadn't said anything since I feel more stupid than I did before...I have tried before to code pulldowns and I just can't get the hang of it...I appologize that I'm not as...computer literate as everyone else.
Yeah I realize that I sound bitter...and maybe I am....but coding a pd is nothing like coding tags in html...to me anyway and making codes is easier to me than breathing. I appreciate that help is there when I need it but due to some trauma in my past involving people who were supposed to help me pretty much telling me what to go do and how to do it to myself I'm not really the "asking for help" kind. Once you get blown off enough times you start to expect it. And I realize that yeah you guys can't run three sites without some form of monetary assistance and I do apologize if I seemed to insinuate that you were just out for more money...I helped run a chatsite a few years back (that I won't mention because they screwed me nine ways from sunday there...) and I know what it's like. I tried coding my own pulldowns on the last site I was on and I failed miserably. I guess what I'm getting at is....I really don't NEED pulldowns as far as I'm concerned but they would be nice...for my other players...
and I guess I hate hearing people say how easy it is for everyone when I sit here looking at the code and the template and seeing gibberish.

My purpose to your post was not to make you feel stupid or anything I was just simply replying back to what you had said. So if I made you feel any different then I do apologize for such.

You don't need to apologize for expressing your thoughts. As I mentioned and Chris we would be more then willing to help you get the hang of them. Actually if you try a few times and look it over it is not as hard as it looks and I speak from experience as I really don't like coding them myself! *L*

Actually coding is a lot like coding tags in html. The only difference is your adding different things such as $USER$, $WHOTO$ and $SAYS$....

font commands even images can be posted into them.

This is where I am going say don't let the past creep up onto you. If anything I say it is this. There is a lot of good people on this site that would be more then happy to help out if needed. Just ask..look at the av boards and everywhere else filled with great people who love to help which I think is one of the thing that make the sites so great!

As far as getting screwed over from another site or so I have had that happen in the past before as well. Plus I have took on a bad business deal that costed my site starlightchat.com to go down for well over a year.

The coding is a little different by once you try it out a few times..trial and error as someone mentioned....it comes together.

If you need help just ask...I'll give free input on things..I don't have a issue with that.

Laces....I felt the same way you do when it comes to figuring out how to pulldowns...

so what I did was take a step back take a BIG breath.. put some music on that helps me relax and then went to work believe me I asked ALOT of questions until I found out the best method that works for me for doing them... how I code mine is I take a previous pd post ... copy the info.. paste it then change the saying to be what I want it to be.. hit the nice refresh button  then voila it's done! then when I'm done scroll to the bottom and copy and paste them into the order I would like.   last night I was adding a pd to my room and it took me 4 times before I got it just right...

you have lots of people here who are willing to help.. even if you don't feel comfortable asking.. Most here will step up to the plate anyways.. because that's what they do here!  Thats why I love this site and have been around for as long as I have.

good luck and if you need any help let me know!

I would be happy to go through it with you in how to place them in. Once you do a few I think you will see that it is rather simple. Just let me know and I'll do my best to explain
