Today I noticed there was a comic discussion added to DRC. When I asked about it, I was told it just seemed right since we do have some decent sized discussions on here. They tend to build and even split into other interesting topics. Now I bet some of you wonder, how does this pertain to you... the DRC member who doesn't read the funny books? Well that's just it, comics are such a part of mainstream entertainment you don't even realize it.

With such aquistions as Diseny buying Marvel Comics... DC developing DC Entertainment... Marvel producing most of their newer films in house, DC dominating live action television... as well as the lesser known underground comics.

Did you know, before the cartoon, everyone's favorite pizza eating Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was an adult comic book? A very action packed and violent comic with mature themes?

Or how about The Crow? Based on a comic book from a lesser known company called Kitchen Sink Press from the mid-eighties.

Other films such as 300, 30 Days of Night and Ghost World... all based on comic books.

Many people watch television such as Smallville or play video games which comic books have made a positive invasion into the video game market.

What's the point, you ask? The point is, this discussion area is for everyone who has an interest in the genere in any medium form. Some here know the X-Men from the films and the animated cartoons. Some only know the characters from feature animated films or what they experience in video games. This is cool! All this makes the industry go round.

Just cause you know the FOX Animated X-Men series doesn't mean you're left out in the cold from X-Men discussions. Everything is based on what has come before and builds it's own cannon, exclusive to the specific genre it stems from.

The idea of this section to talk about, ask questions (remember no question is stupid, not while I moderate this section) and most of all have fun! The purpose is that everyone should know who Batman and Superman are regardless of if it's from the comic book, the films or the cartoons. The modern day has helped make all these iconic characters accessable through many of today's mediums.
