The other day I decided to do a little testing on some web browsers and seeing how they work with the sites. Or well in surfing around the net in general.
The two browsers right off seem nice. Yes Safari used to be only for Mac’s I believe but now is supporting windows. It loads decently well with sites and such accept for the chat rooms. I am not sure if it’s do to the frames setup of the sites chat rooms or not. But once in the room I can post at least once maybe twice then the posts remain in the post typing area. I have to reload the room fully or erase the line of text that I had posted earlier from it manually. Now granted there maybe a setting I am missing so not knowing what that is I found that to be very annoying to use so I ended up removing it. It’s decent other wise but not good for my chatting needs!
Next up was Google’s Crome browser. yes this is in a beta stage still. The sites load up rather quick within the browser again a very nice thing. It seems ok with surfing being a beta. Quick to respond to opening up the pages I am looking over. HOWEVER same result as the Safari once I entered the chat rooms. After one or two posts I had to reload in order to remove the text it was saving in the post area. So once again very annoying. It could be because it’ts beta and not having a setting that I can tweak around with just yet. If someone else has tested these and figured them out LET ME KNOW! I would love to try them again to see for myself.
Ahhh then there is K-Meleon. This browser is based off the Mozilla format. If your looking for a browser with a ton of add-ons then this is probably not the one for you. If your looking one for fast browsing and so on much like the mozilla firefox then this is definitely one worth checking out. Right away I noticed the speed. Wow everything loaded up very quick for me. Chat rooms worked perfectly as I was hoping it would. I highly recommend checking out this browser its worth trying!
Final thoughts! I hope the Safari and Crome is not leading to what other browsers may start doing. Because that will put me in a real hard place in regards of how the rooms work and finding away to get around them….
I am going to start up a little something new here to post. It has been a while since I have actually posted anything other then a update on the rules we have changed. But the other day while checking over the hits on the site and where those hits come from I noticed a certain site. While I won’t mention it because to be honest it don’t deserve to be mentioned. In fact I probably shouldn’t even post this because it only feeds their little warped mind that they did something to get attention.
While looking over this “Site” and no please its not one of the other chat sites. In fact this person is pretty shallow and running a cheap and free version of java chat which by the way sucks on the one that the one is using. What disturbs me this person has no respect at all for what copyright is. You see this person completely ripped the entire rules, and wording of The Manor entrance page for their own gain. No this person did infact not ask permission to do so. And the funny thing is its word for word! Color choices and all. Oh and the big kicker in this to show they have no thoughts of their own…THEY GOT OUR LINK within their copyright!
Why even bother posting a copyright pal? I mean it obviously means dick to you! Honestly it just shows just how lately nobody really cares in regards of respect. Respect others properties nor respect other peoples words. Not only was The Manor words part of what I thought of..but another member of Dark Realms Chat and in which we gave a thank you too.
This person? No permission from either of us…Not even an “quote” saying where they got it from. Nope they made it out as their own for their own shit room. Hey pal why not just take our fulle name of the room too? Hey even better sign up on our message board and highjack every post that is made and make it your own too…..what a dick….plain and simple.
